At DECA Ryerson, we aim to help students develop confidence and demonstrate leadership in the business community. Our mission is to transform our talented students into champion professionals by providing them with resources to develop essential business skills; create pathways to their chosen careers with networking opportunities; and provide them with a platform to harness their potential and triumph among the many.
DECA is an international organization whose mission is to prepare “emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” DECA U Ontario is Canada’s largest undergraduate conference, with over 2000 delegates from chapters across Ontario. Each year, delegates compete at the DECA U Provincials Conference in the hopes of succeeding to the international competition. During the conference, delegates compete in tests and case competitions in categories like Restaurant and Food Services, Marketing Management, Retail Management. Through DECA, students are able to gain knowledge and experience outside the lecture hall, as they develop their analytical, presentation, and business leadership skills through in house delegate development sessions and various events throughout the year.
Each year, our team attends a multitude of conferences and pit ourselves against over 30 other universities from across Canada, the United States and the rest of the world
on the back of emphatic successes at case conferences on both provincial and global scale.

To prepare for provincials, delegates meet bi-weekly choice of Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday 6:30-8:30pm KHW379. Each meeting speaks to a softskill, hardskill and breakout session where our experienced team trains you on cutting a case.
